Vista ultimate steal

Thanks for your feedback. I am attempting to install to a computer with XP home edition OS and Office student teacher already installed. I could find no answer to the question of whether I should uninstall previous versions so I chose "upgrade" when I began the install, the only other option was "Custom". Installation was stopped with the message "Error EXE" I have searched in vain for the past couple of hours to find an exact match for this problem on several troubleshooting sites including Microsoft and several independent tech sites to no avail.

I considered beginning the install again and using "custom" but I don't want to compound the problem. As an added treat the message "Error One or more files required to restore your computer to its previous state could not be found restoration will not be possible. By the way, I wonder if this could have anything to do with the fact that this computer is using the NTFS file system? I have never upgraded since as the 2 computers I have bought since both had XP installed.

Maybe someone else can confirm on a more recent version. Ordered the backup disk last year and it never came. Watch out! Posted this to the front page over the weekend. Thanks for sharing, xaueious. Check out the RedFlagDeals.

Is there some kind of rule that you can install more than once? So I don't think you can install on multiple machines. Only way to know is to actually try it on multiple machines when you do buy it. What I do need to have to be able to upgrade to Vista ultimate? Where is the cheapest place to get it? Could I upgrade from vista home that came with my lenovo notebook?

How about Win XP pro that came with my Dell notebook? I also created a boot disk like someone suggested and get the same error. Please help me upgrade to Vista This thread is locked.
