Crcdisk.sys vista hang toshiba

Worked great. I installed Windows Vista SP2 from scratch another disk. Re-tried the system restore from Toshiba. No good. At this point I figured I was just going to install Vista from scratch. So I reinstalled Vista and downloaded the Toshiba drivers from their website. One by one I started installing the drivers. Until I got to the driver for a flash media card reader front of laptop.

It froze up during the install. I believe the problem is a hardware issue. I reformatted the hard drive, then tried to reinstall Windows. The install would not start if my wireless card was enabled. I disabled the card and was able to install Windows. But still when I enable the wireless card, windows fails to boot. How old is your hard disk? This has happened to me when a hard disk or hard disk controller is failing.

Well I replaced the wireless card and it did not resolve the problem. The only thing I can think of now is a faulty motherboard. But I don't want to spend a couple hundred dollars for a new board unless I'm sure it's the problem.

One other thing to note is that I tried to boot off an Ubuntu 7. Im not sure if you're still having problems, but I encountered the issue today and during the boot I enabled loading non signed drivers in the F8 menu.

Booted right up. This is on Vista Ultimate 64 bit edition, shouldn't matter but I did want to mention that. Hope it helps. Can easily be the southbridge or related to it, that why it fails after CRCDISK, might be power issues, when wireless is on not enough power to maintain data transfer.

I am having this same problem, my wife was right clicking icons in the task bar and shutting them off, and screen went funky, so she rebooted the system, and this happened.

I'm having this same issue on a Toshiba Satellite AS I've read a couple of suggestion but I need neowin's help. It's just a brand new install of windows xp home basic bit. Fully updated through automatic updates and it stopped working suddenly. THe person claims that she didn't install anything new, and from what i've read this seems to happen a lot.

Do not endorse illegal behavior on Neowin or the mods will get you. Thanks for the advice about the Ubcd. I downloaded it, and it has an amazing amount of tools on there.

I am currently trying to get it to run some HDD diagnostics, and every time it says that it can't find a hard drive. Any ideas? I just got Vivard ver 4 which is on ubcd and it reported no errors and no remapped.

Does this mean that the hard drives physical health is not in danger? Is it a software problem then? I just finished burning Ubuntu to a disk and am actually running that on the computer right now.

Since it is running from the CD, that doesn't really rule out a faulty hard disk does it? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed to attempt to fix the current Vista Installation from Ubuntu?

Problem 1: When first loading my computer, the screen pops up with the little scrolling bar across the bottom of the black screen when Windows is trying to load, but the computer either goes to a BLUE error screen or it restarts itself. So basically I am completely frozen. Obviously I'm not the first person who's had this happen, and it ALWAYS happens when they update it from Microsoft SP1 , so I know it's not some hardware or something that's just "old" or maybe "not quite right".

I've read posts from back in , so I know someone somewhere has a solution. Even though I really can't lose some of the files for my company on my computer, at this point So please if anyone out there has a REAL solution And please don't ask me to boot it from my CD to repair it, because
