RONR provides by default that elected candidates take office immediately, as soon as the election is completed. If this default rule is modified in your organization see below it is only to the extent that the bylaws provide.
You'll have to read carefully and see what the language says. If the rule in the bylaws sets a later date but not a specific point within the meeting, then I would argue that the installation should take place at the earliest possible point in the meeting. But I would draw your attention to Thomas Ralph's post, which points out that the mere holding of, or failure to hold, an installation ceremony does not affect the time at which an election becomes effective.
Whether your bylaws language "installing" the officers means to treat that as merely ceremonial, or whether it means to say that the officers do not actually take office until that time, is a matter of bylaws interpretation, which is beyond the scope of this forum. Start new topic.
